Web development from TYPO3 to the open source CMS Drupal
The last relaunch of Mader's website was almost five years ago. A lot has changed on the web during this time. Responsive web design in particular began its triumphal march. It was therefore a matter of course that the new website should also be optimally displayed on mobile devices. Our digital agency transferred the existing corporate design to the online world. The result is an extremely typical and modern web design. A mega menu serves as navigation, which transforms into a clear tab navigation on mobile devices.
Due to the desired flexibility on the editor side, .FUF opted for the Drupal CMS for web development. The open-source CMS promotes SEO-optimized content creation and management, an essential requirement in online marketing. Thanks to Drupal's modular structure, the website is ideally equipped for the future, so that additional areas and functions can be added at any time and supplemented by individual software development.
Conversion via app for callback function
One aim of the website relaunch was to make it easier for visitors to contact Mader. To this end, the internet agency Frank und Freunde developed a Drupal module as a separate application that adapts to the respective end device in the front end. A simple telephone receiver icon appears at the bottom right of every page and scrolls with the page. In this way, the user always has the contact in view. If the page is viewed on a desktop computer, a contact field appears when the button is clicked. The user can then request a callback directly. However, if the user opens the page from a mobile device, they are asked whether they would like to dial the stored number directly on their smartphone and are thus connected directly to a sales employee.
Programming of a flexible contact person module
Another new feature of the relaunch is the contact person module developed by the digital agency Frank und Freunde. In the backend of the content management system, site editors can create and maintain contact persons in a clear interface. All data such as staff photos, e-mail addresses and telephone extensions are stored centrally. The user can filter the contacts directly on the homepage by zip code and/or area in order to find the right contact person and contact them directly. In addition, each contact person can be flexibly stored on a desired subpage in the individually developed software module. This is particularly suitable for the individual subpages for products and solutions.
FUF Conclusion
The decision to switch to a content management system is a controversial one in many companies, as it also means that many of the company's employees have to familiarize themselves with the new CMS, often internationally. However, Mader quickly found its way around the new CMS Drupal and was able to take full advantage of the new features - and now benefits from a modern website which, thanks to Drupal's modular structure, can be flexibly expanded on an ongoing basis and supplemented by software development.
