The payment process within the app works offchain - simply and efficiently: this is the basic idea behind the BitBucks app, which also enables BitBucks to transfer money to contacts in the phone book. The payment is booked and an invitation SMS is sent to the recipient. If the recipient installs the app, the payment is credited immediately.
