With a market share of almost six percent, Drupal is one of the world's leading content management systems. The open source software was designed by Belgian Dries Buytaert in 2001 and is particularly impressive in terms of its collaborative creation, editing and organization of websites. It is therefore not without reason that well-known names such as Duden, the White House (until 2017) and Harvard University use Drupal as their CMS for their websites.
FUF video series on Drupal
A multi-part video series on Drupal is intended to help you better understand the interesting aspects of the content management system. Frank and friends have taken on this task and have already published the first part of the series on their YouTube channel and on Facebook. This introduction should form the basis for the coming episodes, in which the advantages and features of Drupal will be discussed in more detail.
Whether Drupal newcomers, existing users or website managers: The know-how accumulated over the years by the digital agency Frank und Freunde is to be passed on in this series; because without this basic understanding, successful development and improvement of digital strategies and web projects is not possible.
Social software and much more
Drupal differs from other content management systems primarily through the implementation of social software approaches. It therefore supports the development of communities that want to work together on content and exchange information on topics. For example, users can create their own weblogs, exchange information in forums or publish articles. Drupal is particularly suitable for medium-sized and large web projects with individual requirements thanks to its wide range of expansion options. It also supports a differentiated roles and rights system.
