The new shop should not only feel and look modern, but also be able to sell both physical and digital products / services directly through the website unlike before. Consequently the management of licenses has to be implemented at the same time, ensuring centralized, flexible and securely scalable control of all access and usage rights.

In addition to the technical realization of the new shopping function, the design concept of the BKI also needed to be redefined. The goal was to develop a concept that not solely impresses through design and content, but also with it's ability to guide users unambiguously to products and services. In essence, the decisive point is whether the user experience of the new shop is capable of generating high satisfaction and, in turn, driving greater sales success.

To achieve this objective, we decided to take a more unusual approach.

To begin with, further developments were made to the existing corporate design in order to create a modern and appealing web design. Characterized by a lean and airy layout, the new design aims for high user-friendliness through appearance and ease of use.

The Wow Factor? We used none of the leading shopping systems. Instead the required store functionalities were developed individually as a front-end application.

This meant that the online store allowed for incredibly smooth interactions, avoiding annoying page reloads and thus offering a more modern and positive user experience while shopping.

A supplementary benefit that carries meaningful implications was that the web store does not contain any functionalities that weren't needed. Thus resulting in even more performance, a better cost to benefit ratio and most importantly enabling individual expandability without the classic limitations of using a standard shopping software.

Let's Talk Tech - Because after all, the most crucial part of the implementation was to realize the technical requirements: Implementing a web store that impresses with performance and at the same time won't be a setback in terms of structure, maintenance and operating cost? We answered these questions by developing an individual, headless, front-end shopping layer with a payment function. Within the store, media types and variants can be selected directly, without neglecting license conditions of the digital variants. The licensed products receive token-based rights directly from the store system, making it not only much easier to manage and control the licenses, but also improving security and efficiency.

Additionally the customer management and ERP system was integrated through a REST API. This direct connection meant that customer data and order informations could be used in real time, reducing manual data entries and the associated errors. Introducing this automated processes has substantially elevated the speed and accuracy with which orders, inventory levels, and customer inquiries are handled, resulting in a markedly more efficient operational flow.
